Short and Sweet...

Sorry to rush this but I've got a killer headache, borderline migraine and I just can't shake it. I've had it since around 3:00 today and well, it's now 9:18!

We had a wonderful vacation. Got to spend time with many family members and friends. Quick highlights from the trip: 1. Chris's uncle Ray said "What's up with Chris's wife, she's getting big!"... Chris's cousin responded with "yah! She's pregnant!" It was quite comical. 2. We visited a college friend who recently had a baby girl. She was so tiny and so sweet, I can't wait to hold my own! and 3. At my family reunion we counted all my grandparent's grandchildren and great grandchildren. Baby Sayers will be the 29th great grandchild for my grandparents. The two of them had 6 kids, who then had 16 grandkids, and come March there will be 29 great grandkids. But like my grandfather said, "that was 10 minutes ago"... in my family you never know who's going to come out and say, "I'm pregnant!" What's even crazier is that there are a few that haven't even started having babies yet!

And the last note, and certainly the best... we had a doctor's appointment today. It was my first "normal" OB appointment. Go in, pee in a cup, get weighed, blood pressure taken and then they used the doppler for the first time. We got to hear the baby's heartbeat! It was simply amazing! It took the nurse a bit to find it, the baby was right behind my pubic bone so she was kinda grinding the doppler into my abdomen (boy did I have to pee after!) but once she found it, it was wonderful. It sounded like a horse galloping. It was 168 beats per minute. Nice and strong! And other good news, dispite my belly growing rapidly, I've only gained 2 lbs, I'm right on a good track for the 1st trimester, which by the way is almost over!

Oh - and we have an ultra sound on Friday. It's for Nuchal Translucency screening, but I really don't care about the chances of Downes Syndrome... I just want to see The Babe again!

I'll fill you in on Friday, and if I remember (yah yah, pregnancy brain is real!) I'll post belly pics!
