2008 Meme

What did you do in 2008 that you’d never done before?
I had a baby!

Did you keep your new year’s resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I don't remember last years so probably not... this year I want to take better care of myself and that includes wearing make up if I leave the house for something other than work.

Did anyone close to you give birth?
I did! And a few of my real life and online friends did as well.

Did anyone close to you die?
No, thankfully.

What countries did you visit?
Just the good ol' USA

What would you like to have in 2009 that you lacked in 2008?
A longer vacation.

What date from 2008 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
December 14th... the day my son was born.

What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Getting pregnant and having a sweet baby boy.

What was your biggest failure?
I don't think I failed at anything, learned lessons maybe, but no failures.

Did you suffer illness or injury?
A miscarriage

What was the best thing you bought?
Fertility treatments!

Whose behavior merited celebration?
My husbands. He has stood by my side through every trail and tribulation as well as celebrated every joyous occassion we have been through. He has been my rock many, many times in 2008.

Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
I HAD two friends that I basically wrote off in 2008. There behaviors, selfishness, and negativity was not needed in my life.

Where did most of your money go?
Food and fertility treatments... well the mortgage too!

What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Pregnancy!

What song will always remind you of 2008?
Hmmm... maybe Womanizer

Probably fatter, but not by much.

How did you spend christmas?
Woke up and exchanged gifts with Chris then headed to the NICU to visit Aidan

Did you fall in love in 2008?
Yes...with my son and my husband all over again.

How many one night stands?
None... however with pregnancy and having a baby my poor husband probable feels like the random acts of love making is more like a one night stand with me!

What changes did you make to “green up” your lifestyle?
Not enough, I buy more organic though.

What was your favorite tv show?
House

Do you hate anyone now that you didn’t hate this time last year?
No. I don't hate.

What was the best book you read?
Into the Wild

What was your greatest musical discovery?
John Prine - Angel from Montgomery... thanks to the above book, and watching the movie.

What did you want and get?
A baby! (and for Christmas I got a pizza pan, cookie sheet and diamond earrings!)

What did you want and not get?
For Christmas - cake decorating stuff, but that's minor.

What was your favorite film of this year?
Ironman

What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
31 - went to my favorite restaraunt with some good friends.

What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
Not having a miscarriage and even though I'm so glad my son is here, if he hadn't been 12 weeks early there would be slightly less worry!

How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2008?
maternity

What kept you sane?
My husband... and he had to work pretty hard at it! And when he couldn't handle it, my BBC friends!

Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
Errr... none really.

What political issue stirred you the most?
The presidential election

Whom did you miss?
My family!

Who was the best new person you met?
Everyone at the Ronald McDonald house and my son, Aidan.

Don't plan on anything... as soon as you have a plan, it will change!
