Helicopter ride at merely hours old.
Overcame numerous breathing complications with very few set backs. He started on a ventilator, then to an oscillator, then cpap and nasal cannula.
Made it over 65 days in the NICU without an infection. NICU nurses explained to us early on that a true miracle is a child that leaves without ever getting an infection. Granted he was on antibiotics numerous times when infection was suspected but his lab results always came back clear.
He left the NICU at 37 weeks 3 days gestational. We were not expecting him to come home until March 9th.
He may have come home on a heart monitor but we believe that many times that it went off were false alarms and the company it came from is picking it up this week.
Everyday we see Aidan become more and more alert and stronger. Just this past week Aidan has began holding his head up on his own and looking around.
Those are just a few wondrous things. Personally I think it's wonderful and I'm so proud of him for riding in his swing for the first time yesterday, or taking a walk with me, daddy and the dog in the stroller last week and the next day he went for a walk with me and the dog in his Baby Bjorn carrier.
Because Aidan was so early there are many precautions that need to be made with having him around people so we haven't had professional portraits taken yet. Plus I'd like to wait until he's really holding his head up on his own, possibly even sitting up on his own. So for now, Daddy and I are the photographers. Here are a few photos from his 3 month old photo shoot by me.
