In Memory of Trevor James Ulrich

Exactly one year ago today, at 3 pm, I took Aidan and the dog for a walk to the post office. I commented to Aidan about it being the 3rd time the sirens had gone off that day. As I turned right out of the driveway and walked by the water tower the 1st responding ambulance was going around our circle in the other direction. As we walked back we moved to the side of the road as the 2nd & 3rd ambulance headed towards our street. I missed seeing Trevor being carried out of the Dobson's house, in an EMT's arms, lifeless, by merely seconds. Never in a million years could I have ever thought the call was for Aidan's 1st friend, his NICU buddy, Trevor. Never in million years could I have imagined his daycare provider, Gail Dobson shook Trevor so hard resulting in massive head trauma. Never in a million years did any of us imagine having to say goodbye to Trevor when he was only 9 months old.

We miss you every day, Trevor!

Remember - NEVER shake a baby. If you don't know what to do, put your baby in a safe place, walk away, calm down and ask for help. And vomiting and lethargy without fever or diarrhea are signs of head trauma, NOT the flu! Be aware, make aware, stand up for our babies!
